Long time, no see!
Hello There!
I have been gone for a while, work piled up and haven't had any free weekends in more than a month. This luckily did not hinder developement as much, only publishing, since I do that mostly on weekends.
This is a major update, so buckle up!
1. - New Art
This is my first major project, and I made the mistake I hear everybody does. I confess to purism. I wanted to make everything in my game, MINE, by personally making it, and this has hindered me a lot, not to mention, others do things better than I ever could.
After realizing this, I started looking at asset packs I could use, which landed me with the demo versions of tilesets of SzadiArt. Now I work with a 0 sum budget for now, so I had no funds to pay for the good stuff, nor to donate. I am using the free demo assets available. 2. - Tanks
All friendly Tanks are in!
- The original Tankette has a Tankin pair (cannon version).
- A sturdier cannon unit, as in a regular Tank.
- Combined Tank, has both cannon and mg.
- Auto loading Double shot Tank.
3. - Waves
Enemy waves are extended and now all the abilities you have, they also have, coming at the beginning of waves.
4. - Enemy Tanks
All tanks aforementioned are available to the enemy as well. They are nasty to deal with, with their own AI logic, separate to infantry.
5. - Setup for the endgame
I have made plans to finish this game ASAP. Though it is not the way I imagined it, it still makes me very proud. I have come a long way while I made this, but I don't want to end up in development hell. I have two handful of systems I wanted to implement but did not plan for, or it would require additional assets with little return. So I devised a plan, made some setup changes, and decided what content to cut and what to finish. You won't see the difference in the end, as in what all this means, but this decision enables me more than you can imagine. All in all, I want to be done before autumn, marking development of this project at an even 1 year.
That's all folks, all of this came at a lot of work and effort and time and stress. I hope you like it and give it a try. I also just today reached a 100 views. It isn't much, but I can feel this is the beginning of something great.
