Done and done!

Hello There!

As I have mentioned earlier, this project is in a spot where by my own standards, I consider it done!

When I began, I only have followed 2 tutorials with game-maker and knew very little about anything. Now I believe I am sufficient to get things done in GML. I am nowhere as good as I want to be, but hey, it's a start. I have thought of many features in this game, but sadly planned for very little when I made the systems. I could spend months on refining things just to add a few, not really quality of life features, but content. I don't consider this to be a good trade off. The game is a fully functional, complete loop. It's there, and I myself enjoy playing it. Of course it's not what I had planned, but it's close in game-play and feel, so I am satisfied. I also desperately want to avoid development hell.

In any case, whats new?

1.  - Gamemodes

One thing that stands out though is that a level and gamemode selector has been added. Yep.

There are 2 gamemodes, Sandbox and Survival.

Sandbox, you get a bunch of resources and the usual spawn wave button.

Survival, you get some resources and a timed, measured in difficulty wave system.

2. - Maps

There's 4 maps with unique setup and unique tile each.

Once the core mechanics are all done, adding content proved pretty fast so here it is.

- River with the usual river tiles

- City with new ruin tiles, which are "natural" bunker tiles.

- Fields with new wheat field tiles, that have no cover but high chance to miss

- Village all of the above combined

And what else, well I am just going to list the rest quickly:

- menus done

- tutorial rewritten

- button functions repolished

- bugfixes

So that is all. Glad to be done with this project to be honest. Of course, I'll come back to it in a week, see the response and do some bugfixes if necessary. Once bugfixes are done, I'll do an official launch post.

Until next time!
